SHE GETS BORED

(and Other Truths)

XINGXIN HU

FEATURED: SHE GETS BORED (and Other Truths)

In her latest body of work, Xingxin Hu continues her introspective exploration of contemporary femininity: its quiet ruptures, its daily negotiations, its soft intimacies. Drawing from personal memory and second-hand experience, Hu constructs intimate psychological landscapes in which the female body and everyday objects act as vessels for complex emotional states: longing, disconnection, quiet defiance. Through a language of stillness and nuance, Hu visualizes the murky space between how femininity is felt and how it is performed. Her works reflect a desire to reconcile the innate with the constructed, capturing the uneasy choreography between interior perception and external expectation. The female subjects, often alone and sometimes partially obscured or cropped, are not passive but self-aware, poised at the edge of becoming or undoing.

Studio Veive proudly champions the work of Xingxin Hu. To view available works and learn more, click here:

Studio Veive is a dynamic online art platform built to champion artists, foster collaboration, and reimagine contemporary art in a way that feels exciting, inclusive, and approachable.

This platform is shaped by my passion, curiosity, and desire to build something meaningful. I found myself searching for a sense of community - for a space where young creatives and art lovers could come together, share ideas, and experience art as something deeply personal and alive. I wanted an environment beyond exclusivity, beyond hushed gallery corners and VIP previews. Struggling to find this, I decided to create space for a new way of thinking :

What is studio Veive?

  1. An Online Art Gallery : A curated space dedicated to showcasing and supporting both emerging and established talent.

  2. A Visual Journal : A creative hub featuring artist interviews, art market insights, city guides, and short films - Art news made engaging, digestible, and visually compelling.

  3. Immersive Events & Experiences : Every month, Studio Veive steps beyond the screen and into the city. From gallery tours and artist talks to studio visits, painting workshops, and creative dinners, these pop-up events offer intimate, inspiring moments where art isn’t just observed, it’s experienced.

Studio Veive is based in Amsterdam : a city full of art, culture, and creativity. It's a reflection of the vibrant artistic landscape I’ve immersed myself in over the past four years and the place I’ve lovingly called home. While Amsterdam is home, Studio Veive has a global vision. In time, I’ll bring special events to other cultural capitals, expanding the conversation and creating new spaces for connection and inspiration.

MEET THE FOUNDER

A young woman with blonde hair, sitting on the floor next to a stack of art and photography books, wearing a white sleeveless top and blue jeans. She has tattoos on her arms and is looking at the camera with a slight smile against a plain white wall.

Hi, I’m Geneviève - Fine Art Specialist, Artist, Storyteller, and the founder of this platform.

I’ve moved through the art world in many different roles : painter, gallerist, guide, curator - each experience adding new layers to my perspective. At heart, I am, and always will be, an artist first and foremost. There is an undeniable fondness for this first love, one that has shaped every aspect of my life and continues to evolve.

I’ve built my expertise at the intersection of art and industry, dedicating years to helping artists bring their visions to life, curating immersive exhibitions, and leading programs that connect people with art in deeply personal ways. This platform is the culmination of that experience - of understanding the creative process from within, of navigating the business side of art, and of developing a keen eye for what makes an artwork not just seen, but truly felt.

I created Studio Veive because I know the challenges artists face in getting their work seen, the barriers that keep audiences from fully engaging with art, and the gaps in the industry that often leave emerging voices unheard.

What began as a personal search for community has grown into something much larger. Whether you’re an art lover, aficionado, artist, collector, or simply someone who finds joy in creativity, this space is for you.
